Page 3 - At Sea


It was dark in the box. It was also rather scary for James. In all of his life he had never done anything so risky. Sally, on the other hand, was very calm and unconcerned. James wondered whether she often had adventures like this one.
The ship pulled out of the harbour - there was a lot of clanking of chains and men shouting instructions and then they were off. Luckily the journey from Rosslaire to Pembroke dock in Wales, was quite short.
James was tired and, eventually, the humming of the engines, the rocking of the boat and the darkness in the box all worked together to send him off to sleep.
